A feeling of a spiritual ascent would be an acceptable explanation of ” a song of ascents,” the heading of Psalms 120-134.  Jerusalem may not be the highest place in the country geographically, but it is indeed the place of the Temple of God, and therefore going to it is a spiritual experience which one accompanies through the recitation of these songs.

An exquisite copy of the scroll of  ‘” a song of ascents”, as it was discovered at the Qumran caves, on  the Dead Sea, is available from www.biblicalreproductions.com. This exact reproduction is presented in a thick transparent plastic encasement. Biblical Reproductions is licensed by the Israel Antiquities Authority.
